GDPR & Your Rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have specific rights over your personal data. This page explains how to exercise them with EventInvites.

Right of access

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. In the app, go to Privacy Settings and use "Export your data" to request a downloadable archive (account, events, invitations, RSVPs, memories, audit log).

Right to data portability

You can receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format. The same export provided under "Export your data" in Privacy Settings satisfies this right.

Right to rectification

You can ask us to correct inaccurate data. For account details (e.g. time zone, language), use Account Settings. For event or guest data, edit the relevant event or guest in the app. For other corrections, contact us.

Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")

You can request deletion of your personal data. Options:

  • Account: In Privacy Settings or Account Settings, use "Delete my account". This permanently removes your account and associated data (events you own, organizer roles, guest data, media) after you confirm.
  • Guest data: If you were invited to an event as a guest, you can request deletion of your invitation and related data from the invite page ("Delete my data" link) by confirming your phone number.

Right to restrict processing

You can ask us to restrict how we process your data in certain cases (e.g. while we verify accuracy or you object to processing). Contact us to submit such a request.

Right to object

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing. We use your data primarily to perform our contract with you; if you object to specific processing, contact us and we will consider your request.

Right to withdraw consent

Where we rely on consent (e.g. cookies), you can withdraw it at any time. In Privacy Settings you can withdraw cookie consent (you will be signed out). Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority in your country. We will cooperate with any such authority. Contact details for EU/EEA authorities can be found on the website of the European Data Protection Board (edpb.europa.eu).

How to get started

Log in and go to Privacy Settings to export your data, view your activity log, manage consents, or delete your account. For requests we cannot fulfil in-app, contact us using the details in our Privacy Policy.
